MTP: Episode 101

Hello friends and fans! It’s a new year and that means it’s time for our annual look back at the top records of the previous 12 months. As always, this isn’t a countdown (I hate those). Rather, it’s a very subjective view of a collection of tunes from some of the albums that really stood out on the podcast in 2017. So, let’s get to it!

The Marking Time Podcast Episode 101 features 25 songs which embody the spirit of #RealGrownupMusic – great lyrics, memorable melodies and, above all, they sound fantastic across an array of situations, circumstances and my ever changing moods. (And yes, that’s a Paul Weller reference.)

And just to see if anyone reads these episode notes, I’m inserting a warning about some ***ADULT LYRICS*** around the 30 minute mark of the show, during the song “Young & Dumb” to be exact. If you listen to the program with little ones (normally very cool and we love this!) you may want to exercise some listener discretion, or be prepared to do some fancy explaining to little Johnny and/or Mary.

So once again, thanks for your continued support of the program. I hope you enjoy the playlist and my various and assorted commentary breaks throughout. Yes, that’s new this time also, so thanks for noticing. We’ll see if it sticks for future shows – feel free to give feedback on whether you like it or not!

Thanks and keep on keeping the faith!
